BIG NEWS - UPDATE ON ME (and you) - SO LONG, FAREWELL

Hi Buzznet Friends,

I am writing to let you know that I am no longer going to be working at Buzzmedia and the only hard part for me about moving on - is that day to day I will not be in touch or as involved in your Buzznet experience - which through contesting, programming, creative engagements, events, band recruitment and the photographer network - I always tried my hardest to make a unique and expressive experience.

But, after 4 years (of never becoming an OG) - I have decided to move on. But most of you should know that even without the badge (which I believe Mark or Rich should still give me), I am an OG at heart and in the Buzznet development.

Thanks for making the last 4 years of my Buzzneting so enjoyable. You have taught me the meaning of an online community and the many ways in which one can be creative with a Gerard Way photo and a animated gif of a cat. I never thought I would know so many band names with 3 letter abbreviations, but now thanks to you all, I do!

This is not goodbye, because afterall - I too am curious to see what changes and updates are made to the new site - so I will be lurking on the regular. Love you lots. Really I do.

"We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths." - Walt Disney-

If you have nothing to say to me, but want me to know you are out there, then throw me a or give me a . I hope you know that you can always on me for a referal or advice, and those of you who know I adore you, can on me too! Now I must go to bed, so I can hopefully have dreams about .

BzntGossipGrl - I hope I am worthy of a goodbye tweet.

XOXOXO (caps are intended, to express the energy in that digital hug and kiss)

Buzznet had a chat with Justin Tranter (lead singer) of Semi Precious Weapons who slipped us details on his band's ultimate goal. Semi Precious Weapons debut album "You Love You" is available on iTunes now, give the tunes a listen here.

Buzznet: What do you wear to sleep at night?

Justin Tranter: Eyeliner.

BN: What was the last dream you had?

JT: It was about our guitar player Stevy telling a story about getting into some messy trouble with a female friend of his.

BN: Do you have a morning bathroom routine? If so what does it entail from when you get out of bed until you are dressed for the day?

JT: Check emails. Read amazing things our fans have said while I was asleep. Shower. Hair. Makeup. Pantyhose. Go.

BN: Who was your first kiss? How old were you? Where were you?

JT: I'm honestly not sure.

BN: What do you have hanging on the walls of your bedroom? Which item is your favorite and why?

JT: Whatever the hotel I'm in has hanging on the wall. I am homeless. :)

BN: What movie do you watch when you are sad?

JT: Basic Instinct.

BN: Which historical figure do you most identify? Why?

JT: Mae West. She was a rebel. She was sexy cus she said so. She was glamorous but not typical.

BN: Do you have a nickname?

JT: JT4.

BN: Which text message or voicemail do you regret sending to someone so much that you wish you could take it back? Who was the lucky recipient?

JT: I don't really regret anything.

BN: If you were to stop aging at a certain point of your life- and would live forever at that age- how old would you want to be?

JT: Um...I think I'll be really awesome at 36.

BN: Do you have any scars? If so what happened? If not, tell us about an imperfection you have and how you got it?

JT: My shins are covered in scars from dumb shit I do on stage. Covered.

BN: If you could travel back in time and have a chat with the you-of-ten-years-ago, what advice would you give yourself?

JT: I would tell myself I look best blonde.

BN: If it were your last meal ever, what would you feast on?

JT: Champagne and Marshmallows.

BN: If you could DJ any celebrity’s party who would it be and what would be the song you would play as they enter the room?

JT: Sharon Stone. Semi Precious Weapons "Put A Diamond In It".

BN: What was your first job? What was your worst job?

JT: First job was being a receptionist at a salon. Worst job was collecting cans off the street and cashing them in for change at the grocery store.

BN: What is next for you?

JT: Becoming the most loved and most hated band in the world.

Behind Closed Doors: Juliet Simms of Automatic Loveletter

Juliet Simms (lead singer) of Automatic Loveletter has caught up with Buzznet and taken us Behind Closed Doors to give us the juice on her first kiss. Read on for more ...

Buzznet: What do you wear to sleep at night?

Juliet Simms: Panties or boys undies and either my AC/DC shirt or The Cure.

BN: What was the last dream you had?

JS: Last night. I dream almost every night. I dreamt I ate my orbit gum wrapper and then I looked in the mirror, sprouted lobster claws and a walrus face. Then all the walls disappeared and a thousand walrus's were carrying me through Space singing Disney show tunes, like Aladdin's "A Whole New World," and then my head blew up. The End.

BN: Do you have a morning bathroom routine? If so what does it entail from when you get out of bed until you are dressed for the day?

JS: Ummm usually I pee first. Then one eye zombie myself into the kitchen and make coffee or tea. Get on my computer and answer about 45 emails and do some online work. I pretty much never fully get dressed until I leave for yoga or go out to do something. even then I usually have one piece of clothing article I slept in.

BN: Who was your first kiss? How old were you? Where were you?

JS: Cassidy Turbin. 12. In the back of my Dads suburban. Hot.

BN: What do you have hanging on the walls of your bedroom? Which item is your favorite and why?

JS: Jewelry, scarves, feathers, framed David Bowie picture, purses... its totally gypsified. And probably the Bowie picture.

BN: Are you superstitious about anything, if so what and why?

JS: I believe in Karma. If you do good and make the right choices thats what you'll get back at you.

BN: What movie do you watch when you are sad?

JS: Pride and Prejudice or Labyrinth.

BN: Which historical figure do you most identify? Why?

JS: I always identify Abraham Lincoln or any of the other presidents for that matter on money. Or pretty much anyone thats really famous i can identify... like Jesus, Adolf Hitler, Ghandi, Justin Bieber, unfortunately Heidi Montag... and because I have eyes.

BN: Do you have a nickname?

JS: Juju

BN: Which text message or voicemail do you regret sending to someone so much that you wish you could take it back? Who was the lucky recipient?

JS: You can't regret nothin' you don't remember... I choose to forget things sometimes.

BN: If you were to stop aging at a certain point of your life- and would live forever at that age- how old would you want to be?

JS: Yesterday.

BN: Do you have any scars? If so what happened? If not, tell us about an imperfection you have and how you got it?

JS: I have a scar on my right arm from cortisone.

BN: If you could travel back in time and have a chat with the you-of-ten-years-ago, what advice would you give yourself?

JS: Don't eat yellow snow.

BN: If it were your last meal ever, what would you feast on?

JS: The lost boys imaginary meal in Hook.

BN: If you could DJ any celebrity’s party who would it be and what would be the song you would play as they enter the room?

JS: I think “Entrance Song?” the HBO theme song cira 1993 and for Jean Claude Van Damme. Or Chuck Norris with "Its Raining Men".

BN: What was your first job? What was your worst job?

JS: Fish and chips wench at the Renaissance Festival when I was 14. Worst job when I worked in a carpet warehouse with Tommy.

BN: What is next for you?

JS: Album and Video release and Warped Tour!

Top 10 Performances At Sasquatch Festival 2010: Kid Cudi, MGMT, The Dirty Projectors ...

Sasquatch Music Festival was this past weekend, May 29, 30 & 31 at The Gorge Amphitheatre a few hours outside Seattle, Washington. After watching 24 shows across a variety of genres, here is my list of the 10 performances at Sasquatch Festival 2010 that made me jump for joy!

1) The Dirty Projectors

Maybe The Dirty Projectors have had a lot of practice playing in rough conditions and in loud environments back in Brooklyn, NY. Or maybe Amber Coffman just had the most amazing voice at Sasquatch Festival 2010. Either way, The Dirty Projectors were just about the only band to hold down the awful sounds that for the most part came from the Honda Stage. Stillness Is A Move sounded beautiful even when I was waiting in the line at the Honey Bucket porto-potties.

2) Vampire Weekend

Sure their album Contra reached #1 and they have made a name for themselves across all the indie blogs, but who would have thought that Vampire Weekend would have 10,000+ fans singing their chorus to Kids at Sasquatch music festival? OMG, it was so fun! Vampire Weekend came equipped to Sasquatch with agressive sounds, tight high pitched chants and an overall really ambitious show. I have seen them a number of times, but this was by far their strongest performance; which was demonstrated best through their ability to energize the hills of the Gorge Amphitheatre.

3) Band Of Horses

These guys were meant to be singing on a stage with a background as beautiful as that of the Gorge Amphitheatre. With their burly beards and their omnious sound, you would think they just finished climbing Mt. Everest and now they have all the energy in the world to belt out beautiful music and make even the saddest of songs sound happy.

4) Kid Cudi

His smile was so big that it made him feel a perfect fit for the huge main stage. Kid Cudi engaged with the crowd and gave off really postive vibes, creating a sing-a-long and a dance party at 4:30 in the afternoon on Sunday, May 30th.

5) The National

For the record, I do not like The National's music. I did however LOVE their set at Sasquatch Festival. This was certainly my most unexpected favorite. Who would have thought that they have the energy and power to create the dance party they evoked? The lead singer even ran into the crowd with his 50 foot mic-chord, creating a stir of wild energy. I must say, The National is certainly a dude's band, so when you look left or right at their show, you will see a guy getting really into it.

6) MGMT

Perfect. MGMT was perfect. Some like to complain that they don't do anything on stage and as a result they are boring. While it is true that they don't do much of anything on stage except for look reallly realllly good, they sound excellent. MGMT's new album Congratulations has brought a whole new element to this band, one that demonstrates many musical influences and sounds more like The Zombies then just a neon-hipster dance party. MGMT's music has enough personality and synth-pop, so I don't really see the reason that people get so upset when Andrew VanWyngarden's doesn't show us his dance moves. After watching MGMT perform Flash Delirium at Sasquatch, I am confident that their new album performed live, is going to turn the haters into lovers of their new music and live show.

7) LCD Soundsystem

I will find it in my heart to forgive James Murphy for not playing Dance Yrself Clean, since they did play all the other hits and then some. LCD Soundsystem was a crowd pleaser. Some might consider them show-off's because they have mastered the art of looking really cool, sounding really good and getting the dance party started.

8) Boyz Noize

Boyz Noize was a great ending to a wonderful weekend of music, because you basically had the opportunity to sweat off all the toxic waste and booze you had put in your system. Although this didn't nearly compare to the fun scene at Girl Talk in 2009, the big pilates balls in the air flying through the Rumpus Room dance tent, certainly made the Boyz Noize set look like a Girl Talk party.

9) Mumford & Sons

Their calming vocals and harmonic folky sound was very well suited for the afternoon slot on Saturday that Mumford & Sons filled. They are certainly a chill in the grass or skip a little in the grass type of listen, but they are so on point with their chords and melody --- these guys have got the live performance on lockdown.

10) Deadmau5

The music of Deadmau5 is nothing to rave about, although it is something to rave too. Deadmau5 had the most impressive stage set-up at Sasquatch, his cute little Mickey Mouse ears stand behind a huge v-shaped podium that projects images that make even those sober feel a bit trippy. Deadmau5 plays a lot of unce-unce-unce punch it out music, I do wish he would drop the beats a bit more and make it a little more two-step. This set catered perfectly to those still wanting to dance at the end of the night on Saturday, May 29th.

___

I feel sort of bad for you if you didn't make it to Sasquatch! this year. You really should have listened to me last year, when I said this truely is the best festival. Hopefully after two years of positive reviews, you will jump on the Sasquatch! band wagon. Enjoy our amazing photos.
